Deborah Johnson

Deb has been drawing and creating art since she was a little girl. Her first “published professional gig” was when she was asked to illustrate a story for Hopscotch Magazine way back in 1992! Since then, Deb has illustrated for numerous educational books, seven children’s books and is currently working on illustrating and designing her eighth book. She loves to write for children and is working to bring her words and illustrations together for her first book. All of Deb’s illustrations are completed in a digital format using Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign...and a Cintiq. In addition to illustrating, Deb is also a graphic designer for print media and other design projects. Deb lives in Danville, Virginia with her husband, 2 dogs and 1 very hairy cat! She is also a member of the SCBWI Carolinas Chapter.
